Idle private railcars on the KTZ network reduce transportation efficiency

Kazakhstan has seen an increase in the number of operational railcars, reaching 95,000 units per day on average, a 6% increase compared to the same period last year. Excess railcars occupy station tracks, negatively impacting station operations and complicating the arrival and departure of trains.

The increase in idle railcars also leads to a decrease in train speed and an increase in railcar turnover.

This situation requires prompt action to reduce railcar idleness and increase network capacity. KTZ urges shippers and consignees to take comprehensive measures promptly to ensure the timely release of stations and the smooth operation of trains.

For its part, the Company is systematically working to optimize the transportation process and improve the efficiency of rolling stock utilization.
