Firefighting drills on a locomotive were held at Zhanaarka station

At Zhanaarka station, tactical and special drills were held to extinguish a fire on a locomotive. The event was attended by the personnel of the fire train of Zhanaarka station of the Karaganda branch of the main network, the track section unit, as well as employees of the Ulytau region Department of Emergency Situations.

The purpose of the drills is to improve practical skills and practice instructions for interaction with the units of the Zhanaarka district and Ulytau region Department of Emergency Situations when extinguishing fires at railway facilities and specialized rolling stock.

According to the drill scenario, at 09:45 a simulated fire caused by a short circuit occurred on a shunting locomotive. During the training, the fire crews quickly worked out the algorithm for extinguishing the fire, which made it possible to “localize” the source in the shortest possible time and prevent its spread. Such exercises are held regularly and are aimed at increasing the level of readiness of emergency services for possible emergency situations in railway transport.
