The construction of the Bakhty-Ayagoz railway line was inspected in the Abay region

During a working visit, Nurlan Urankhayev, Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, inspected the construction of the new Bakhty-Ayagoz railway line. The project is being implemented in accordance with a government decree and envisions the creation of a third border crossing on the Kazakh-Chinese border.

During the site visit, Nurlan Urankhayev, along with representatives of the Committee for Railway and Water Transport, JSC NC KTZ, the general contractor China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd, and the Akimat of the Abay region, assessed the pace and quality of construction and installation work.

Construction is in its active phase: work is underway on sections totaling 42 km, involving 120 pieces of equipment and 272 specialists. A total of 517,972 cubic meters of excavation work has been completed, and the roadbed, camps, utility networks, and infrastructure are being constructed.

Concurrently, the design documentation is being finalized. A positive state expert review is expected in April 2026. Completion of construction and installation work is scheduled for December 31, 2027.

The Bakhty-Ayagoz project is under the special supervision of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
