Since the beginning of the year, National Carrier trains have transported over 7.8 million passengers

JSC Passenger Transportation summed up the results of seven months of work. During this period, over 7.8 million passengers used the National Carrier trains. The routes Astana-Almaty, Astana-Shymkent, Almaty-Shymkent, Astana-Semey and Almaty-Semey were in the greatest demand.

High demand for train tickets occurs in the summer and winter periods (vacation season, holidays) and holidays.

JSC Passenger Transportation organized 13 additional routes in the summer season of 2025. For passengers traveling to Lake Alakol, the following trains were assigned: Astana-Dostyk, Almaty-Dostyk, Semey-Shar-Dostyk, Oskemen-Aktogay-Dostyk, Kyzylorda-Dostyk and Pavlodar-Dostyk. Popular routes Astana-Almaty, Astana-Shymkent and Aktobe-Astana were also strengthened.

During the period of increased demand, passengers actively used the Waiting List service, which helps to quickly purchase tickets for vacant seats. The service is available on the bilet.railways.kz website and at ticket offices. Since the beginning of 2025, more than 281 thousand customers have used the service, of which 105 thousand passengers have purchased tickets.

JSC Passenger Transportation continues to work on updating the rolling stock. Today, the company's fleet consists of 2,204 cars, including 1,060 standard cars, 656 Talgo cars and 94 electric trains. Over the past 10 years, the fleet has been updated by 50%.
As part of the further renewal of the fleet by 2030, it is planned to deliver new 557 modern Stadler Kazakhstan cars. The first batch of 51 Stadler Kazakhstan cars and 63 domestic cars from the ZIKSTO plant will be transferred to the National Carrier this year.
