Almaty branch of the railway demonstrates growth in freight traffic

Based on the results of January-May 2025, the volume of transportation on the Almaty branch of the railway amounted to 8.2 million tons, which is 16% higher than the same period last year. Growth was recorded for a number of key cargo nomenclatures. Thus, transportation of non-ferrous ore increased by 6.5% and reached 450 thousand tons. The volume of transportation of construction cargo increased by 70% - to 914 thousand tons, which is associated with the active implementation of infrastructure projects in the region.

Agro-industrial cargo showed significant growth: transportation of compound feed increased by 74%, to 14.8 thousand tons, oilcake - by 10.7%, to 37 thousand tons.
