All reservoirs and dams above the railway track have been inspected

As part of the preparation of the railway infrastructure for the passage of ice drift and flood waters, a set of measures is being carried out to increase its stability and safety. Together with territorial authorities, all 83 reservoirs and dams located above the railway track have been inspected. Track section specialists are cleaning bridge openings, drainage wells and drainage pipes from snow, ice and debris, as well as opening up ice from upland and drainage canals, trays and ditches.

To protect the infrastructure, 45 anti-washout trains have been formed, including 297 cars: 45 covered cars for transporting inventory and materials, 247 platforms, of which 110 are loaded with rubble stone, 43 with rail packages and 99 with substandard reinforced concrete sleepers. A reserve of necessary materials has been created: 2,750 m³ of rubble stone and 7,000 substandard reinforced concrete sleepers.

The measures taken will ensure uninterrupted and safe movement of trains during the spring flood period.
