Akmola Region accounts for approximately half of Kazakhstan's rail grain shipments

The latest off-site meeting of the grain headquarters of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy was held in Petropavlovsk, dedicated to the transportation of the new harvest.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, JSC Astyk Trans, local government offices, the veterinary and phytosanitary services, the transport prosecutor's office, the State Revenue Committee, as well as exporters and grain companies.

During the marketing year (May 2024 – September 2025), 6.5 million tons of grain were shipped from Akmola Region, a 91% increase over the same period last year. Akmola Region remains a key grain-producing region, accounting for almost half of the total grain shipments nationwide.

Grain export shipments increased by 66% to 5.2 million tons. Significant growth was also noted in compound feed shipments, with shipment volumes increasing by 132% to 1.2 million tonnes, of which 1.1 million tonnes were exported (a 129% increase). Shipments of milled products exceeded 300,000 tonnes, a 20% increase, while exports increased by 55%.

Meeting participants discussed further coordination of new-harvest grain shipments, ensuring the regularity of shipments, interaction with government agencies and exporters, and measures to improve logistics efficiency.
