16 railway stations to be modernized in Akmola region

As part of a large-scale reconstruction of 125 railway stations in the republic, 16 railway infrastructure facilities will be modernized  in the Akmola region.

The stations being modernized are Erkenshilik, Kurort-Borovoye, Makinka, Kokshetau, Eltai, Saryoba, Ulenty, Derzhavinskaya, Atbasar, Arshaly, Zhaksy, Ereimentau, Yesil, Akkol, Zhaltyr, Shortandy.

The reconstruction includes the restoration of station buildings, improvement of adjacent territories, and replacement of utility lines.

After completion of the work, the stations will be equipped with modern waiting rooms, new food outlets, rest rooms and storage rooms, as well as additional services for passengers. Particular attention is paid to creating a barrier-free environment for people with special needs.

For stable, efficient and uninterrupted provision of passenger transportation services during construction and repair work at the stations, temporary relocation of ticket offices, waiting rooms and other service areas has been organized.

A phased closure of facilities is also envisaged, ensuring safe passenger service.

Modernization of station infrastructure will improve the quality of passenger service, improve comfort and safety, and increase the capacity of facilities.
