Workers of Altynkol and Dostyk stations met with KTZ management

22-12-2023

Representatives of the teams of the Altynkol and Dostyk border stations were invited to the capital, thanks to whom the annual plan for the transfer and receipt of cargo to/from the PRC, agreed upon at a meeting of the Organization for Cooperation between Railways (OSJD), was completed ahead of schedule.

The managing director for production processes of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC Bauyrzhan Urynbassarov, the heads of KTZ-Freight Transportation LLP, and the chairman of the KTZ-Freight Transportation trade union branch Yermek Tulegenov met with them.

The meeting was attended by dispatchers, receivers, cashiers, train preparers and other station workers, whose shifts accounted for the record level of implementation of the Plan.

Station employees were informed about the results of work in the field of freight transportation for 2023 and the prospects for the development of interstate connecting points. It was noted that thanks to the well-coordinated work and effective joint activities of the railway workers of Kazakhstan and China, the annual plan was fulfilled in less than 11 months. At the end of 2023, it is expected that the volume of rail transport between China and Kazakhstan will amount to more than 28 million tons, which is 22% higher than the previous year.

To increase the export and transit potential, KTZ carries out systematic work on the development of border stations. As part of the construction of the second Dostyk-Moiynty tracks, it is planned to modernize the Dostyk station, which will double its capacity. The development of the transit corridor through the Altynkol station will be carried out in two stages. On the first, the Zhetygen - Kazybek-Bek railway line will be built (bypassing the Almaty station), on the second - the second tracks of the Altynkol - Zhetygen section.

In December of this year, a pilot project for automatic registration and automatic issuance of transit declarations in electronic format was launched. The project is being implemented by KTZ together with the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan. As part of the first stage of the project, electronic declaration of goods transiting along the Altynkol – Saryagash route was successfully implemented.

Social issues were also raised at the meeting. The event ended with the presentation of Certificates of Honor from the management of KTZ to station employees. The invitees highly appreciated the productivity of the meeting, noting that the conversation gave an additional boost of energy for new production successes.

The awardees were given a visit to the production facilities of KTZ and the central museum of railway transport, as well as a tour of the main capital attractions.
