When will the construction of the second track on the Dostyk - Moiynty section be completed?

A little over a year has passed since the first links of the track grid for the second track were laid. During this time, 635 km have been built, 62 bridges have been installed and 242 pipes have been installed. The opening of working train traffic on certain sections is planned for the end of this year. The Directorate for the Implementation of Major Projects of KTZ noted that the project will be completed on time.

Along with the construction of the second tracks on the Dostyk - Moiynty section, the construction of a railway bypassing Almaty is underway at an active pace. 75% of the total volume of earthworks has been completed at the site. The laying of the track grid has begun from the Zhetygen station. Culverts are being installed, bridges are being built. The bridge spans on the republican highway Konayev - Almaty have been erected. Large-scale work is underway to reconstruct sections of the Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline.

The roadbed is being prepared for laying the new Darbaza - Maktaaral line in the Turkestan region. In total, to build 152 kilometers of track, builders need to process about 10 thousand cubic meters of soil. The project is being implemented under an EPC contract, design work is underway.

The implementation of large investment projects will increase the capacity of the infrastructure and increase the transit and transport potential of the country, providing additional income to the GDP structure.

Already at the construction stage, the projects have a significant impact on the socio-economic development of the regions through which the new railway lines will pass. All construction and installation work is carried out by domestic contractors. More than 1,300 units of equipment and about 5000 people are involved. In the construction of new railway lines with a total length of more than 1000 km, KTZ will purchase 150 thousand tons of rails and more than 2 million reinforced concrete sleepers with fastenings from Kazakhstani enterprises.
