The Waiting List service is becoming popular among passengers

Since the beginning of this year, the system has offered 50 thousand vacant seats to users of the “Waiting List” service on the website bilet.railways.kz. Passengers bought 17 thousand train tickets.

The “Waiting List” service allows a passenger, if there is no ticket on sale, to stand in line to redeem it if a vacant seat becomes available. This can be done no earlier than 7 days and no later than 2 hours before the train departs.

How to use the Waiting List service:
1. Register on the website bilet.railways.kz and log into your personal account;
2. If a ticket for the desired route is not available, select the “Join the waiting list” option at the end of the page;
3. Fill out an application for the “Waiting List”, indicating the desired route and train number, as well as identification document details and email address;
4. If a free seat becomes available, you will receive a notification in your personal account and an SMS notification about the need to purchase a ticket.


The queue is formed automatically and without human intervention, which eliminates the possibility of changes from the outside. The system has also redesigned ticket sales mechanisms so that unscrupulous market participants cannot “catch seats” when they go on sale. If a cashier makes more than 5 requests of the same type within 30 seconds, the ticket sales system is blocked. After three similar requests, the program warns the cashier about a possible block for 5 minutes if he does not stop sending similar requests. Thus, the cashier will not be able to “catch” seats.

A passenger can also use this service by contacting the ticket office of Passenger Transportation JSC.
