Unknown persons stole track fastening bolts on the Kokpekti – Nura section

On November 24, 2024, on the Kokpekti – Nura section, railway workers discovered the theft of fastening bolts from the inside of the rails on a 500-meter section. As a result of the theft of 131 fasteners, there was a threat to the safety of train traffic, which could lead to a derailment of cars.
The railway workers immediately notified the LOIA (Linear Department of Internal Affairs) officers, who promptly arrived at the scene. In order to prevent possible consequences and ensure traffic safety on this section, a temporary speed limit was introduced for trains.
KTZ takes all necessary measures to ensure safety on the railway tracks.
A similar incident was recorded on November 3, 2024, on the Otar-Chilbastau section, where unknown persons stole 2745 units of track superstructure materials (SKL-14 fasteners, screws, angle guides, elastic clamps).
