A ceremonial dispatch of the China-Europe container train along the TITR (Xi'an - Altynkol - Aktau - Baku - Poti - Burgas - Belgrade - Hamburg/Duisburg/Budapest) took place in Xi'an (PRC).
The event was attended by the management of KTZ, railway administrations of China, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Party Committee and the government of Shaanxi Province, Xi'an City, etc.
A train consists of 55 40-foot containers, formed in the Kazakh-Chinese terminal in Xi'an, will deliver the cargo to Budapest. The train will travel about 7 thousand km to Baku in 8-11 days. It will reach its final destination in Budapest in 25 days.
Reduction of delivery times and provision of service at a new level became possible thanks to fruitful cooperation between railway and port administrations of the TITR member countries.
Over the first 8 months of this year, transit along the TITR has increased 20 times, with 200 trains running along the route.
Reference: The Kazakhstan-China terminal in the dry port of Xi'an was built by KTZ in a short time and opened with the participation of the Head of State in early 2024. Today, 30% of container trains to Europe via Kazakhstan are formed in the dry port.
