Train conductors handed over 3.7 thousand tons of waste for recycling

19-08-2024

The national carrier continues to actively carry out environmental protection activities within the framework of the republican environmental campaign "Taza Kazakhstan", initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

In the first half of 2024, branches of "Passenger Transportation" JSC collected 3.7 thousand tons of waste in trains and handed over for recycling. Including 2.3 thousand tons of paper, 748 kg of plastic, 650 kg of glass, as well as more than 2 thousand tin cans from drinks.

The waste was handed over to enterprises engaged in the processing of secondary resources, which significantly reduces the volume of garbage ending up in landfills, and this not only reduces the environmental burden, but also contributes to the development of a "green" economy in the country.

Passenger Transportation JSC is improving its waste collection and recycling programs by educating employees and passengers about environmental responsibility. Passengers can actively participate in these initiatives by sorting waste on trains and using special containers. Passenger support for such initiatives plays an important role in the success of the company's environmental program.
