Ticket to the future: over 1,500 schoolchildren and students learned how the railway industry works from the inside

As part of the two-month campaign “Career Guidance: The Right Choice – A Reliable Future,” excursions were organized for the capital’s schoolchildren and college students at KTZ facilities. The project is being implemented with the association “Center for the Development of Urban Tourism”.

Career guidance work was carried out at the Nurly Zhol station complex, at the KTZ training center and the Central Museum of Railway Transport of Kazakhstan. The guys were told about the intricacies of the profession, they showed that the railway is a large living organism, the interaction of many services and departments.

The museum shows the stages of development of the industry, presents unique exhibits, instruments and equipment used by railway workers of the last century. The guys were able to dive deeper into the nuances of working on the railway by visiting the capital's Nurly Zhol station complex.

At the KTZ training center they demonstrated the operation of a diesel locomotive engine, turbochargers, and the principle of operation of the cylinder. Teenagers were able to try themselves as a train driver on special simulators simulating the cabins of a diesel and electric locomotive.

The children were also told about safety precautions on the railway, reminded that railway transport is a source of increased danger and were encouraged to follow safety rules.
