16-08-2024
A round table on the topic "Safety on the railway. Preventive work to prevent collisions" was held in Shymkent. The event was organized by the Shymkent freight transportation department. Employees of the linear police and the transport prosecutor's office participated in the round table.
Preventive measures taken to reduce accidents were announced at the meeting. The Shymkent freight transportation department has developed an action plan for carrying out preventive work to prevent collisions with strangers. Within its framework, railway workers of the region, together with employees of the linear departments, conduct monthly raids to prevent violations of the rules for being on the railway tracks.
For 7 months of 2024, 188 raid checks were carried out, 92 violations were identified. Explanatory talks were held with violators, and fines were imposed. 232 explanatory talks about the rules of conduct on railway tracks were held with residents of settlements living near railway tracks. 134 talks were held in educational institutions about the consequences of being in the railway zone with headphones, being distracted by a cell phone. Children were told about what could happen if they take selfies and play in dangerous areas.
"Unfortunately, the work being done does not give the desired result. An analysis of the circumstances of the collisions shows that all cases occur due to the personal carelessness of the victims themselves, crossing the railway tracks in unauthorized places, inattention and alcohol intoxication," said Ilyas Nurzhanov, chief engineer of the Shymkent branch, during the event.
Railway workers have identified stations in the region where people most often violate the rules of safe conduct. Among them are Shymkent, Kyzylsay, Saryagash, Mankent, Badam, Arys, Darbaza, Sas-Tobe, Badam, Igilik, Montaytas, Zhylga, Timur, Karakonyr.
During monthly inspections at stations, railway workers check the serviceability of loudspeakers in places where people cross railway tracks en masse, and the presence of warning signs about danger within the station boundaries.
