Rules for transporting pets on trains in Kazakhstan

Passenger Transportation JSC reminds passengers about the rules for transporting animals on trains. To make traveling with your pet comfortable, you need to familiarize yourself with the established rules in advance. 

Only pets are allowed to be transported on passenger trains; their number should not exceed two (cats, dogs, birds). Transportation of pets and birds is permitted only with the appropriate veterinary passports or certificates. They must be presented when boarding the train.

To travel on a passenger train with an animal, you must purchase the entire compartment to ensure the safety of other passengers from possible allergic reactions. If the owner of the animal is absent, boarding the train is not possible.

Owners are solely responsible for their pets. They must keep them in (cages, boxes, baskets) and monitor them at stations, when boarding/exiting the train, and also on the train itself. You should feed and clean up after your four-legged friend.

Large dogs must be muzzled and on a leash. When traveling with a large dog, a baggage fee based on its weight applies. Large dogs are accommodated exclusively in the non-working vestibule of the first carriage. The pet owner bears full responsibility for his care and safety during the trip.

A guide dog accompanying its blind owner can be in any type of carriage. There is no additional charge for this.

In addition, animals are not allowed to enter the dining cars. Animals that threaten the life and health of passengers and train workers cannot be transported.

The national carrier asks you to plan your trips with pets in advance and consult about the conditions for travel of animals by calling the toll-free number 1433, as well as at the station ticket offices.
