Residents were reminded of railway safety rules

24-09-2024

About 100 thousand people participated in preventive meetings held by railway workers to prevent non-industrial injuries on the railway over the first 8 months of this year. In total, over 5.5 thousand meetings with the population were held in all regions of the country.

Railway workers also visited educational institutions located near the railway, conducted safety lessons and talks with children, distributed visual reminders, booklets containing rules of conduct on the railway, and showed videos on the topic of safety at railway infrastructure facilities.

Together with law enforcement officers, railway workers organized more than 2.2 thousand joint raids. They held explanatory talks with violators and handed out safety reminders. KTZ held 145 meetings of the Coordination Council with the invitation of representatives of the transport prosecutor's office and police, territorial bodies of transport control of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the media, as well as relevant services within the boundaries of freight transportation departments.

As before, the main cause of injury to people is walking on the tracks in the wrong place in front of an approaching train.

To prevent collisions with people, locomotive crews applied 444 emergency braking cases, the largest number in the Almaty, Shymkent and Mangystau regions. Thanks to the vigilance and efficiency of railway workers, it was possible to save the lives of people who neglected safety rules and endangered their lives and health.

In places where people cross railway tracks en masse, 479 signs warning of danger have been updated: "Attention, railway is a high-risk zone", "No entry", "Caution - dangerous zone", "Caution - electrical voltage".
Railway workers remind: the railway is a high-risk zone, where inattention can lead to serious consequences.
