Railwaymen are preparing for spring
12-02-2025
KTZ has begun large-scale preparation of the track and artificial structures to pass ice drift and flood waters. For this purpose, 45 anti-washout trains will be formed, which will be on duty around the clock and are ready to restore damaged sections of the track as soon as possible, ensuring the safe passage of trains.
The trains consist of 297 cars, of which 45 are covered with inventory and 252 platforms with various materials: 110 platforms with rubble stone, 43 with rail packages, 99 with substandard reinforced concrete sleepers.
The track section workers have prepared more than 2.7 thousand m³ of rubble stone and 7 thousand substandard reinforced concrete sleepers.
Railway workers are preparing to carry out drilling and blasting operations to crush ice in March and April at seven track sections: Atbasar, Yesil, Arkalyk, Yereymentau, Kumistau, Dostyk and Zashchita.
In the southern regions of the country, work has already begun to clear bridges, culverts, drainage wells, open up mountain and drainage canals, trays and ditches from snow, ice and debris.
On-duty patrols will be organized at 673 potentially dangerous sections where there is a risk of rising flood waters.
Work has been organized together with territorial bodies to check the condition of 83 reservoirs and dams located above the railway track.
Preparation for the flood is one of the most important tasks to ensure the safety of train traffic in the spring-summer period.
