Railway workers and shippers of the Abay region discussed current transportation issues

A meeting was held in the Abay region with the participation of the KTZ management and shippers of the region. The agenda included issues of uninterrupted provision of transportation for the domestic market and meeting the demand for transportation in export directions.
For 7 months of 2024, loading in the Abay region amounted to over 6.1 million tons. Rail transportation within the region increased by 4%, to 4.8 million tons. 1.3 million tons were sent for export.
The meeting noted the systematic work of KTZ together with the akimat to provide solid fuel to thermal power plants and the population. All thermal power plants have the necessary supply of solid fuel. Railway workers are monitoring the remaining coal in warehouses.
Over the first 7 months of this year, 3.3 million tons of solid fuel were loaded from the coal mine of JSC Karazhyra. Coal transportation within the country increased by 2%, to 3 million tons. Over 340 thousand tons were exported. Coal from the Karazhyra deposit is shipped to Uzbekistan, Belarus, Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
Railway workers organized the non-stop passage of heavy freight trains along the Degelen - Aksu-1 - Semey section, which made it possible to optimize the operation of locomotives.
The meeting participants noted the importance of coherence in work and the need for joint coordination in organizing the transportation process.
