Passenger transportation in “women’s carriages” has doubled this year

Since the beginning of the year, about 70 thousand women have used the service of traveling in “women’s carriages”. This figure has doubled compared to the same period last year (in 2023 - more than 34 thousand women).

In total, since the introduction of the service (since the beginning of 2021), over 359 thousand women have chosen to travel in “women’s carriages” to ensure a more comfortable and safe trip.

Today, 8 passenger trains have “women’s carriages”:
- No. 77/78 “Almaty - Mangistau” compartment car No. 07;
- No. 351/352 “Almaty - Oskemen” compartment car No. 10.
- No. 45/46 “Pavlodar - Turkestan” compartment car No. 09;
- No. 37/38 “Mangistau - Semey” compartment car No. 06;
- No. 47/48 “Atyrau - Astana” compartment car No. 06;
- No. 33/34 “Aktobe - Almaty-1” compartment car No. 06;
- No. 4/3 “Astana - Almaty-2” compartment car No. 17;
- No. 71/72 “Astana - Shymkent” compartment car No. 10.

Tickets for women's carriages are sold only to women, and these carriages are staffed exclusively by female conductors. In addition, male passengers up to seven years of age are allowed to travel in “women’s carriages.”

Currently, a social survey is being conducted on the further development of the “Women’s Carriage” project. The survey results will help to better understand the needs and preferences of passengers, as well as determine the development strategy for the “Women’s Car” project, taking into account current requests and demands of the public.
