28-03-2024

The keys to the new cars were presented to the railway workers in a solemn ceremony at the Almaty station by Kanat Almagambetov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.

Ten vehicles for delivering workers to the place of work and transporting tools were placed at the disposal of track fitters, signalmen and power engineers of the Almaty region. Another 30 will be sent to other railway enterprises in the southern region. This is the first batch of vehicles. In total, 384 vehicles of various models were purchased this year: 92 specialized trucks, 142 cargo and passenger vehicles, 62 buses, 88 off-road vehicles. They will be distributed across the rest of the company's line divisions.

During 2023, the Backbone Network Directorate has done a lot to ensure the most favorable working conditions for workers. To simplify production processes in the track facilities, small-scale mechanization equipment was purchased: more than 2,360 jacks, 165 screwdrivers, 436 levelers, 240 electric sleeper tampers, etc. The special equipment fleet was replenished with 4 loading and transport motor vehicles and a crane with a lifting capacity of up to 150 tons.

Conditions are created not only for railway workers to fully work, but also for relaxation. Across the country, 1,224 containers equipped as heating points have been installed on railway tracks. Modular houses are being built to accommodate railway workers who travel to work at remote stations and sidings. They have everything you need, from air conditioners to dishes. This year the company purchased 132 modular structures. Almost the same number will be installed in 2024.
The renovation of the railway was highly appreciated by industry veterans and employees.

Having worked on the railway for 40 years, industry veteran Talgat Espanov noted the importance of such updating of equipment and small-scale mechanization. He emphasized that the new machines will speed up the delivery of railway workers to the place of production work, and small-scale mechanization will make the work of our railway workers easier.

“There hasn’t been anything like this for a long time.” The resulting vehicles are very convenient; they can be used to deliver a team of track fitters to the work site and transport sleepers, rail cutting machines and other tools. They have good maneuverability, warm cabins, air conditioning and video cameras,” the driver of the Almaty route Ruslan Karabekov shared his impressions.
