Since last year, "Passenger Transportation" JSC has been providing intermodal transportation services using rail and road transport within one trip. Over 16.6 thousand passengers have used the service.
Since the launch of the "Train + Train" service, over 14.4 thousand intermodal tickets have been issued, which have been used by over 7 thousand passengers. This service saves passengers time by offering convenient options for transferring from one train to another. The online service is available on the website bilet.railways.kz and at the ticket offices of "Passenger Transportation" JSC.
The "Train + Bus" service offers passengers of trains #3, #67, #71, #85 and #7508 a transfer from Nurly Zhol station to their home. The vehicle waits for passengers for 15 minutes after the train arrives and uses a dedicated bus lane to quickly move around the city. The fare is 850 tenge. You can order the service using the QR code in the carriage or on the website https://uvu.kz/ktz. More than 7.4 thousand passengers have already chosen the "From the platform to home" service.
Organized groups of 10 people or more can use the "Train + Bus" or "Charged Bus" service to travel from the capital to settlements in the northern region where there is no rail service, such as Bayanaul and Stepnogorsk. The order is made through the website uvu.kz/salonktz. 280 passengers have already been transported. Advanced technologies in passenger transportation are being implemented to improve the efficiency and convenience of the transport system of Kazakhstan in cooperation with the German company DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH.
"The partnership includes pilot projects to integrate railway and bus routes and create the "Train + Airplane" system. It is planned to expand transport hubs in Astana, Almaty and Shymkent for convenient transfers and better connectivity of the regions. The main task of the two companies is to ensure comfort for passengers from the station to home," said Chief Director for Intermodal Transportation Nikolas Sidorovs.
"Passenger Transportation" JSC together with the German company DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH plans to develop digital platforms and cooperate with various transport companies to make passenger travel as comfortable and efficient as possible.
