Over 1400 km of railways repaired in 2023

In 2023, 1443 kilometers of track were updated with all types of repairs on the KTZ network. This is twice as much as last year.

About 550 kilometers of the total volume were thoroughly repaired with the replacement of the rail and sleeper grid. Major work was carried out in sections of the Akmola, Pavlodar, Semey, Almaty, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, Aktobin, and Atyrau branches of the trunk network.

In addition to major track repairs, enhanced medium repairs were carried out. A complete replacement of the rail supports was carried out. 634 sets of turnouts were replaced.
When repairing the track, domestically produced products are used. The rails were produced by the Aktobe Rail and Section Plant (ARBZ). Every year, for the modernization of the main railway network, about 80 thousand tons of rail products are supplied under a long-term agreement between JSC NC KTZ and ARBZ LLP.
Repair work is carried out using special equipment. KTZ's track facilities include more than 730 units of various machines: Duomatic, Unimat MF, leveling, tamping and straightening machines, RM-80, RM-2002, Atlas rail grinding trains, etc.

Systematic track repair work is aimed at ensuring the safety of railway transportation.

In 2024, it is planned to repair 1400 km. Until 2029 - 11 thousand kilometers of railway sections.
