Over 110 thousand railway workers of Kazakhstan celebrate professional holiday

Every year on the first Sunday of August, the employees of the country's largest company, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, celebrate their professional holiday. Today, more than 110 thousand people work here.

Traditionally, the day before, the railway workers summarize their work and celebrate their main achievements.

Over the past three years, the company has achieved maximum historical values in its production and financial activities:

- operational freight turnover: 270 billion ton-kilometers;

- transit: 27.4 million tons;

- transportation volume with China: 28 million tons;

- 255 locomotives were purchased, about 500 units will be purchased within 4 years;

- 150 passenger cars were purchased, about 700 cars will be delivered by 2030;

- the annual volume of railway track repairs (1,400 km) has been doubled.

- the company's revenue increased from 1.3 trillion tenge in 2021 to almost 2 trillion tenge in 2023;

- profit for 2023 amounted to 134 billion tenge, which is 4 times more than in 2022, this is the best indicator of the Company over the past 10 years;

- the salaries of the company's employees have increased more than 2 times compared to the 2020 level.

 

 

The tasks set by the country's leadership to increase the country's transport and transit potential are being successfully accomplished:

- major infrastructure projects are being implemented to build the Dostyk-Moiynty, Darbaza-Maktaaral, Bakhty-Ayagoz, Zhetygen-Kazybek bek railway lines. The second Dostyk-Moiynty track is planned to open by the end of 2024;

- a cargo terminal of Kazakhstan has been built in the Chinese dry port of Xi'an, using the terminal an accelerated container service has been organized in the direction of Central Asia, Russia, Transcaucasia and Europe;

- a new transport and logistics center CRK Terminal is being built at Selyatino station (Moscow region, Russian Federation);

- digital projects aimed at improving the efficiency of rail transport are being implemented jointly with the world's largest companies (Huawei, Wabtec, PSA).

Due to Kazakhstan's presence at the points of origin and consumption of global freight flows, interaction with railway administrations and large foreign companies, and the introduction of modern digital solutions, the geography of transportation is expanding, new routes are opening up, and logistics chains are improving. This contributes to economic growth and strengthening Kazakhstan's position as a transport and logistics hub between Europe and Asia.
 

За счет присутствия Казахстана в точках зарождения и потребления глобальных грузопотоков, взаимодействия с ж/д администрациями и крупными зарубежными компаниями, внедрения современных цифровых решений расширяется география перевозок, открываются новые маршруты и улучшаются логистические цепочки. Это способствует росту экономики и укреплению позиций Казахстана как транспортно-логистического хаба между Европой и Азией.
