Ensuring train traffic safety and increasing the reliability of power supply at the Zhanaarka junction

Employees of the Zhezkazgan power supply division of the branch of JSC NC KTZ — Karaganda branch of the main grid successfully completed an important stage of the modernization of the electrical equipment of the Zhanaarka junction. This project has become a key step in ensuring the reliability of power supply and the safety of train traffic in the region.

As part of the modernization, the outdated central distribution substation (TsRP-10 kV), built back in 1959, and the transformer substation TP-3 (built in 1990) were replaced. Instead, a modern distribution transformer substation with a capacity of 630 kVA (RTP-630 kVA) of a block-modular design was installed.

The process of transferring the RTP-630 kVA is not only of technical but also of significant economic importance. One of the main results of the project will be a reduction in the cost of purchasing transformer oil and a reduction in labor costs for servicing cells and transformers. In addition, this will increase the reliability of the power supply to the Zhanaarka junction, which is strategically important for ensuring safe and uninterrupted train traffic.

The modern block-modular design of the RTP-630 kVA meets all the requirements of reliability and safety, which makes it the optimal solution for operation in this region.
