More than 9 thousand passengers were transported by train during the New Year holidays

During the New Year holidays, 9 thousand passengers were transported by passenger and commuter trains. For the comfort of passengers and to meet the population’s demand for transportation on holiday weekends, KTZ mobilized resources and prepared 30 thousand seats through additional trains and trailer cars. Basically, they were assigned to transport passengers from settlements with which road traffic was suspended due to bad weather. Over 9 thousand passengers were evacuated from snow-covered areas.

As of January 2 of this year, 4 additional commuter trains were added in the direction of Kokshetau, Kurort-Borovoe, Atbasar, Pavlodar. Passengers were offered an additional 1300 seats.
To provide comfortable service to passengers, the stations operate as normal. More than 600 duty officers at the country's stations daily inform passengers about train movements and all changes and additions. Work is organized for the safe boarding and disembarkation of passengers into/from cars.

Clearing the railway infrastructure of snow is carried out around the clock. From December 29 to January 2, more than 36 thousand cubic meters of snow were removed from the railway tracks, and 12.9 thousand kilometers of tracks were cleared. More than 73 units of specialized snow clearing and snow removal equipment and over 3.6 thousand workers are involved in the work of clearing the railway infrastructure from snow.

The unified telephone information service for passengers - 1433 worked on holidays without interruption. From December 29 to January 1, more than 20,6 thousand requests were received.
