More than 316 thousand people with disabilities have used the trains of the National Carrier

Passenger Transportation JSC operates 95 carriages with a special compartment for passengers with special needs, including those using a wheelchair. Such carriages have a lift that allows you to enter the carriage in a wheelchair. 

You can purchase tickets for a special compartment at the ticket offices of   Passenger Transportation JSC at the railway stations or through the website https://bilet.railways.kz/. To obtain discounted tickets, you must provide an IIN and a document confirming your disability. In specialized compartments, people with special needs can travel alone or with an accompanying person. 

In commercial trains and Talgo trains, where a specialized compartment for passengers with disabilities is provided, a 50% discount is provided for all disability groups and their accompanying persons.

The special compartment has two berths for a passenger with a disability and his accompanying person, as well as a bathroom with handrails and a low-lying sink. There are also special folding handrails, a limiter, and brackets to prevent falls. The compartment is equipped with auxiliary belts that allow the passenger to move into the seat without assistance, and is equipped with a button to call the conductor in emergency situations.

The technical condition of the special compartment is checked before each train departs from the train assembly point. Technical maintenance is carried out by a specialized company.

Passenger car conductors and train managers undergo instruction and training on servicing passengers with limited mobility.

Station workers provide assistance to people with disabilities when boarding and exiting the train.
