More than 2.5 thousand conductors will celebrate the New Year on the road

On New Year's Eve, more than 2.5 thousand conductors will serve passengers. 80 train chiefs will also celebrate the New Year at work. Throughout Kazakhstan, 135 station ticket offices and 162 ticket office employees will work on the holiday night.

Passenger train conductor Meruert Korabaeva will celebrate the 16th New Year with the sound of wheels. She has 18 years of experience in this position.
“On holidays, the railway operates without interruption. By New Year the number of passengers usually increases. At midnight we wish each other and passengers a Happy New Year, thereby becoming one big family along the way. We are doing everything possible to ensure that the passenger reaches his destination safely and is able to be close to his family,” says the conductor.

This year the holidays turned out to be difficult for the railway due to bad weather. About 4 thousand people were evacuated by passenger trains over two days. Passenger transportation workers ensured safe transportation as much as possible during adverse weather conditions.

The senior conductor of electric train No. 6805, Nursaule Kartabaeva, went to work on her day off to help her colleagues.
“We have many different situations at work. We always need to be ready to go to work at any time of the day. It is important for us to ensure the safety and comfort of our passengers,” she shared.
