The first batch of modern second-class and compartment passenger cars produced by the Kazakh ZIKSTO plant was delivered to the capital. They will run as part of trains on the routes Karaganda - Zhezkazgan, Atyrau - Mangistau, Atyrau - Aktobe.

 

To ensure passenger comfort, the carriages are equipped with an air conditioning unit, air purification filters, smoke detectors, dry closets, and a video surveillance system in the vestibules. The compartment has electrical sockets and USB connectors. The service life of the cars with proper operation is up to 40 years.

By the end of October this year, another 50 cars built by ZIKSTO JSC will be handed over to the National Carrier, and at the beginning of next year - another 100 units. It is also planned to purchase 537 high-tech carriages from Stadler by 2030.

“Taking into account all the planned measures to update the rolling stock, in 2030 the average age of railcars will decrease from 18 to 13 years. At the same time, the provision of carriages with an air conditioning system will be 100%,” said General Director of Passenger Transportation JSC Zhanibek Taizhanov.

Over the past 10 years, the fleet of Passenger Transportation JSC has been updated by 50%. Over 1,200 cars were purchased that meet modern international requirements for safety, comfort and environmental friendliness.
