Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC Nurlan Zhakupov, during a working trip, visited the transport and logistics facilities of NC KTZ JSC in the Zhetysu region.

The head of the Fund was presented with the technological work of the largest dry port in Central Asia, “KTZE-Khorgos Gateway”, where the processing, storage and transshipment of cargo crossing the Kazakh-Chinese border is carried out. The total area of the Dry Port is 129 hectares and includes a container yard with a capacity of 18 thousand containers, a container terminal with 6 access roads and 3 RMG gantry cranes.

In the first half of 2023, over 185 thousand containers were processed at the Dry Port. This is 21.3% more than in the same period last year.

During the visit, Nurlan Zhakupov laid a capsule for the construction of ten sorting railway tracks and a path for the current uncoupling repair of cars, which will increase the processing capacity of the terminal from 540 thousand to 800 thousand TEU.

The Foundation’s management also got acquainted with the work of the transshipment terminals of Kedentransservice JSC.

During the visit to the Altynkol border station, issues of implementing projects aimed at increasing its throughput were considered. To develop promising volumes of transportation, it is planned to build a non-mechanized hump with a processing capacity of 1,505 wagons per day.

Since the beginning of the year, 1,855 container trains have passed through Altynkol. This is 11% more than in the same period last year.
