KTZ took part in the Eighty-first meeting of the Council on Railway Transport of the Commonwealth Member States

The protocol of the 81st meeting of the Council on Railway Transport of the Commonwealth Member States was signed in Tashkent (Republic of Uzbekistan).

The Council meeting was attended by representatives of the railway administrations of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Georgia, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Latvia, and the Republic of Estonia.

During the meeting, the results of the operational work of the railway network were summed up, an increase in the loading and transportation of goods was noted. Issues of ensuring transportation safety, efficiency and integration of junction points, and further promotion of international transport corridors were also discussed.

As part of the event, bilateral meetings were held, plans for interaction on freight and passenger transportation were drawn up.

For reference: 1.2 billion tons of cargo were transported in the first 9 months of 2024; 1.3 million freight cars; 54.9 million tons in containers. During this period, the number of passengers transported in international traffic increased. 7.3 million passengers were transported (an increase of 114.1% compared to the same period in 2023).
