KTZ management reviewed the construction of a logistics terminal in Almaty

During a working visit to Almaty, KTZ management reviewed the progress of the Almaty-2 logistics complex construction project.

The terminal, with an area of about 10 hectares, will accommodate modern indoor (24,500 m²) and outdoor (12,000 m²) warehouses, as well as a container yard (12,000 m2). Completion of the complex with a design capacity of 57 thousand TEU is planned for 2025. To date, engineering, geodetic and geological surveys have been carried out, and dismantling work has begun.

The implementation of the project will allow for the successful consolidation of cargo from almost all regions of China in the import hub mode for consignees in Almaty and the Almaty region. Also, during the tour of the Almaty hub enterprises, the company's management inspected the material and technical base of the Main Network Directorate and visited the Regional Train Traffic Control Center of the South-Eastern Region (RTCC-2 Almaty).

RTCC-2 unites the dispatch centers of the Almaty, Shymkent, Zhambyl and Semey branches, the operational length of the track of which is 4450 kilometers. The high responsibility of each employee of RTCC-2 in ensuring the safe and uninterrupted movement of trains was noted.

An emphasis on improving the level of traffic safety was also made at a meeting with the heads of the freight transportation department and the main network of Almaty, where issues of production activities, working conditions, and social responsibility were discussed.

The contribution of each employee to the development of the industry was emphasized by the management of KTZ at a ceremonial event with the participation of the teams of the railway hub. Distinguished employees and veterans of the industry were awarded in honor of the 120th anniversary of the Kazakhstan railway.
