26-09-2024
Since the beginning of 2024, 582 grain route trains have been formed and sent. Of these, 551 express trains delivered grain cargo to China, Turkmenistan, Iran, Russia, and Uzbekistan. 31 trains have been organized across the country for the transportation of grain cargo by route shipments. Such data was announced at the site of the fifth International AGRICOM Conference by the director of the branch of NC KTZ JSC - Integrated Planning Directorate Vadim Kopylov.
Transportation by direct route trains reduces cargo delivery times, wagon turnover, and eliminates rolling stock shortages.
Based on the results of 8 months of this year, grain transportation by rail amounted to 5.4 million tons, 4.2 million tons were shipped for export, 1.2 million tons in Kazakhstan (+4% compared to the 2023 level).
2.3 million tons of milled products were transported via the KTZ network, which is 17.4% more than the previous period. For export - 1.8 million tons (+20%), in Kazakhstan - 500 thousand tons (+9%).
In September 2024, the transportation of agricultural products through the port of Aktau tripled, to 90 thousand tons. It is planned to transport 212 thousand tons in October. To ensure uninterrupted transportation, KTZ and JSC KazKorTransService organize the timely delivery of cars for unloading at the grain terminals of the Akbiday and Severny ports and the removal of empty ones by organized trains. The main markets for Kazakhstani grain and milled products traditionally remain the countries of Central Asia, Afghanistan, Iran and China. At the same time, over the past three years, grain exports to China have increased by 5.7 times.
