The merits of the railway workers who made a special contribution to the fight against the consequences of floods were noted with letters of gratitude and departmental awards of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan - medals “Kogamdyk tartiptі saktagan ushin”.

KTZ transported about 21 thousand people from flooded areas free of charge, and organized the transportation of 500 children to health centers and children's camps. For these purposes, Passenger Transportation JSC provided 113 additional cars.

More than 2.6 thousand employees of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the National Guard were transported by rail to carry out emergency rescue operations. 1000 units of heavy equipment, 1500 tons of rubble stone, 5600 tons of crushed stone were transported to Atyrau and Uralsk.

At the award ceremony in Astana, representatives of the National Guard, on behalf of the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard, Yerkin Botakanov, thanked the railway workers for their timely assistance in eliminating the consequences of the flood, round-the-clock work to evacuate people from flooded areas, transporting equipment and humanitarian aid.

It was noted that thanks to advance preparation for the passage of melt water, the railway infrastructure was not damaged during the natural disaster, and in some affected areas, trains became the only available mode of transport.
