The XIII meeting of the Joint Working Group on Strategic Cooperation of NC KTZ JSC and Russian Railways JSC was held in Shymkent. The delegations of the parties were headed by: from NC KTZ JSC - Deputy Chairman of the Management Board Kanat Almagambetov, from JSC Russian Railways - First Deputy General Director Sergey Pavlov. 

At the meeting, issues of attracting additional cargo flows, transporting goods using paperless technology, developing direct international rail and water communication, parity in servicing locomotives and locomotive crews, and others were discussed.

It was noted that the Action Plan for the implementation of the main directions of strategic cooperation between KTZ and Russian Railways for 2023 has been completed. The organizational, technical and technological measures of the Road Map to intensify the transition to the transportation of goods and wagons using paperless technology have also been implemented. At the initiative of KTZ, the issue of restoring the Kyzyl Tu – Granichnaya – Russkaya Polyana railway section and the construction of the Bakhty-Ayagoz railway line were discussed.

As a result of the meeting, priority areas and activities for strategic cooperation were identified, in particular, on the formation of a forecast of traffic volumes for 2024–2030, including along the eastern route of the international North-South transport corridor, and on improving the work of interstate connecting points. The railway administrations of Kazakhstan and Russia will continue to work to increase the volume of transportation using paperless technology in international rail freight traffic.

 

 

The parties agreed to exchange experience in organizing and carrying out technological “windows” during major and current track repairs using new technologies and track machines, and on the digitalization of technological processes.

The next meeting of the working group on strategic cooperation will take place in 2024 in the Russian Federation.
