KTZ and Russian Railway held negotiations on bilateral cooperation

A meeting of members of the boards of JSC NC KTZ and JSC Russian Railway took place in Moscow.

The parties summed up the results of their joint work in 2023, discussed issues of strengthening cooperation in the field of railway transport and logistics, prospects for increasing transportation volumes, and increasing the efficiency of interstate junction points.

The key topic of the meeting was the main directions of development of transport corridors passing through the territory of Russia and Kazakhstan, coordination of traffic volumes along the eastern route of the international North-South transport corridor until 2030.

 The parties agreed to increase the volume of transportation from Kazakhstan to Russia and back using electronic consignment notes, improve the work on (transfer) exchange of trains at junctions, the use of locomotive traction and digital interaction in the field of freight transportation.

Over the 11 months of 2023, the volume of freight traffic between Kazakhstan and Russia increased by 5.4% and amounted to more than 83.8 million tons.
