KTZ and the French bank Société Générale signed an agreement

KTZ and the French bank Société Générale signed an Agreement on the main terms of financing the purchase of Alstom electric locomotives at the Kazakh-French Business Council in Paris.

The parties agreed to provide preferential financing at low rates for the purchase of 117 locomotives. The guarantor will be the export credit agency of the French Ministry of Finance BPI France.

The locomotives will be delivered to KTZ by 2028. The renewal of the KTZ fleet will have a positive impact on the transportation process.

Reference: The purchased electric locomotives will replace the outdated VL-80 locomotives of the 1980 model. The advantages of these locomotives are lower cost, economical use of electricity, high reliability and reduced maintenance costs.
