12-08-2024
The management of KTZ and the Akimat of the Akmola region discussed the prospects for tourism development in the region and issues of cargo transportation, including new harvest, by rail. The meeting was attended by the heads of the largest enterprises, shippers and exporters of the region.
In the summer season of 2024, the number of passengers transported by rail in the direction of Kurort Borovoye increased by 6.4% compared to the same period last year. A reduction in travel time by electric train from Astana to the resort from 4 to 2.5 hours was noted. For the summer period, the route of the Pavlodar - Astana electric train to Kokshetau with a stop at the Kurort Borovoye station has been extended. In total, this year, 168 thousand passengers are planned to be transported by rail in this direction.
The railway workers emphasized that the work to improve the efficiency of work and the organization of passenger transportation will be continued. In the second half of this year, it is planned to launch new electric trains "Yereymentau - Astana - Kokshetau", "Astana -
Resort Borovoye", which will include carriages with an improved layout and increased comfort (with bio-toilets, retractable additional steps, air conditioners, etc.).
The transportation of socially significant goods remains a priority for KTZ. The Akmola region is one of the leaders in the production of grain and milled products and the largest grain exporter in the country. Since the beginning of the year, over 3.4 million tons of cargo have been loaded through the network of the Akmola branch of freight transportation, of which 2.3 million tons are for export. Grain is delivered along pre-developed routes.
The issue of providing the region's shippers with carriages is under special control of KTZ. At the meeting, it was recommended that participants in the transportation process ensure timely planning of transportation, unloading and loading of wagons.
At the end of the meeting, the management of KTZ thanked the participants of the meeting for the constructive dialogue and interaction on issues of railway transport. A number of shippers were awarded a jubilee medal for the 120th anniversary of the railway industry of Kazakhstan.
