The Head of State received Chairman of the Management Board of NC KTZ JSC Nurlan Sauranbayev

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev heard a report on the results of the National company's activities in 2024. The head of NC KTZ JSC reported on the preservation of the positive growth  dynamics of the main production indicators. Operational cargo turnover amounted to 272 billion ton-kilometers. A record volume of cargo was transported through the Kazakh-Chinese joints - 32 million tons, which is 13.1% more than in 2023. Container transit increased by 8.8%. The number of transported containers amounted to 1.4 million TEU.

The President was informed about the progress of major infrastructure projects and the fulfillment of his instructions on the development of transit potential. As Nurlan Sauranbayev said, more than 2,800 km of railways have already been repaired to date. Over  1,000 km of new lines are under construction: Dostyk - Moiynty, Darbaza - Maktaaral and the bypass line of the Almaty hub. Work on the construction of second tracks on the Dostyk - Moiynty section and the bypass line Zhetygen - Kazybek-bek is ahead of schedule and will be completed in 2025. 


The head of state was presented with information on the expansion of the terminal network to attract cargo flows to Kazakhstan's corridors. The launch of the Kazakh-Chinese terminal in the dry port of Xi'an contributed to the increase in transit from China along the Trans-Caspian route. Construction of terminals has begun in the East - West direction in Almaty, in the Azerbaijani seaport of Alyat, in the capital of Hungary - Budapest and in the village of Selyatino near Moscow. Together with the Chinese partner - the port of Lianyungang - the construction of a container hub has begun in the port of Aktau. In addition, a number of new projects supported by the Head of State were presented.

The head of NC KTZ JSC informed the President that the company plans to prioritize the development of infrastructure, the terminal network and the implementation of digital solutions. 

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the importance of intensifying work in these areas. According to him, the systematic implementation of the tasks set will achieve significant results in strengthening Kazakhstan's position as a transit hub in Eurasia.
