Floods: high alert on the railway

The KTZ network has 45 flood control trains in full readiness for immediate response to emergency situations. The cars are equipped with all necessary equipment and materials. 2650 cubic meters of rubble stone and over 8 thousand substandard sleepers were harvested.

The railway workers made preparations in advance for the passage of flood waters. We cleared bridges, culverts, and drainage wells of snow, ice, and debris, and opened upland and drainage ditches, chutes, and ditches. Drilling and blasting work was carried out to crush ice on the rivers Uba, Tentek, Selety and others. Together with territorial organizations, 83 dams and reservoirs were inspected.

At the same time, in the Aktobe region, on a private access road, melt water washed away the railway tracks, adjacent to the Zhem railway station, which are located 16 km downstream from the main railway line.

At the Zhem station itself there is no accumulation of water; drainage facilities are operating as normal.
 
Railway workers are constantly monitoring flood conditions at stations and stages, as well as on sections of the track located in close proximity to rivers and reservoirs.
