The first railway route from China to Afghanistan has been organized

KTZ Express JSC (a subsidiary of NC KTZ JSC) in cooperation with the leading operator of container railway transportation in China - China Railway Container Transport Co., Ltd. (CRCT) has organized a new railway route for freight transportation between the People's
Republic of China and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

The route passes through China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. Freight trains will cross the Chinese border through the Khorgos checkpoint, go through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Altynkol station), then the Republic of Uzbekistan (Galaba station) and reach the final destination - the city of Hairatan (Afghanistan) in 12-15 days.

The first train on this route departed from Tuanjiecun station (Chongqing, China). The train included 55 containers with telecommunications equipment. The opening of this route strengthens Kazakhstan's key role as a strategic transit hub.
