The first rails of the bypass route have been laid in the Almaty region

05-12-2024

The laying of the track grid of the railway line under construction bypassing Almaty has started at the Zhetygen station.

This is one of the major infrastructure projects that will affect the development of the region and the country's transport and transit potential. The new line will reduce the load on the Almaty hub by 40% and reduce the delivery time of goods by 1-2 days.

To date, 60 kilometers of track grid have been assembled and are ready for laying. To provide a springboard for the track workers, machine operators have already completed 80% of the excavation work.

At the same time, bridges are being built and culverts are being installed. In total, the project provides for 74 artificial structures.

About 600 people are working at the facility and more than 230 units of various equipment are involved.
