Expedited cargo delivery organized along the route China - Kazakhstan - Uzbekistan
05-08-2024
The container train covered a distance of 4,486 km in a record 5 days.
The expedited cargo delivery service was organized within the framework of the agreements reached in April of this year in Khiva between the presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on the organization of cargo transportation along the route China - Kazakhstan - Uzbekistan and the development of the
Trans-Afghan route.
The freight train was sent from the Kazakh-Chinese terminal in the port of Xi'an. The containers were transshipped at the KTZE Khorgos Gateway dry port and continued along the KTZ network to the border station of Saryagash, then to the final point - the Tashkent station, a major transport hub in Central Asia.
The short transportation time of cargo is ensured by using the terminal capabilities of KTZ in China, as well as the consistent interaction of the railway administrations of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to expand the border infrastructure of the two countries. Due to the reconstruction and improvement of technological processes, the capacity of the interstate junction station Saryagash, through which the main cargo flow between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan passes, has been increased by 50%.
The development of an optimal route using the assets of railway companies will give a serious impetus to the expansion of transport and logistics capabilities and the deepening of the partnership between the two countries.
Reference:
In 2023, the volume of cargo transportation between the countries amounted to over 31 million tons, an increase of 17.2% compared to 2022.
