Due to bad weather, train drivers are especially vigilant
Despite the wind, snowfall, sleet and blizzard, railway workers ensure the safe transportation of goods and passengers. Having received a message from meteorologists about impending bad weather, the railway is taking emergency measures to prepare snow removal equipment and transfer workers to work under special conditions.
Every day, about 1,000 locomotive crews set out across the country. Of these, 740 are locomotive crews for freight traffic and 250 for passenger traffic. To ensure traffic safety in bad weather conditions, drivers are especially vigilant, if necessary, reduce the speed of trains and periodically sound signals informing about the approach of a train.
