21-05-2024

This is one of the major infrastructure projects that is being implemented by KTZ on behalf of the President and is of great importance for the development of the country’s transport and transit potential. The new line Zhetygen - Kazybek bek will relieve the strained Almaty railway junction by 40% and reduce the delivery time of goods by 1-2 days.

The length of the main routes is 73 km. Including the development of new points, Zhetygen and Kazybek bek stations. In total, railway workers will lay 123 km of rail and sleeper grating.

Work is being carried out along the entire length of the future railway. At this stage, excavation work is underway, the total volume of which will be over 6.2 million cubic meters.

Bridges are being built and culverts are being installed.

As noted in the Directorate for the Implementation of Major Projects of NC KTZ JSC, the project is technically difficult. Due to the difficult terrain, slope culverts are installed in some areas.

Deep excavations are prepared for the construction of bridge supports.

Today there are 6 bridges and 12 pipes in operation. In total, during the construction process, 48 pipes of various configurations will be installed, 13 bridges and 6 overpasses will be erected.

Among the large artificial structures are bridges across the Kaskelen River and over the Almaty-Ust-Kamenogorsk railway.

Contractors from the Almaty region were involved in the construction of a new railway line. The facility employs over 150 pieces of construction machines (bulldozers, excavators, bulldozers, truck cranes, loaders, etc.) and employs about 350 people.
