Workers of carriage economy will improve their qualifications

The first module of the program for developing the competencies of carriage workers was launched at the KTZ Personnel Assessment and Development Center 67 heads of the wagon maintenance station of KTZ-Freight Transportation LLP and section heads of Vagonservice JSC from all regions of the country will undergo advanced training. All of them are professionals in their field with extensive experience. They are responsible for fulfilling the requirements of the technological process, ensuring the safety of train traffic, the safety of the rolling stock and compliance with the working conditions of the rolling stock.

 

   “For the first time, such a large-scale and clearly structured training program is being carried out for carriage workers. The main goal of the training is to systematize the acquired knowledge and skills to improve the efficiency of managers,” said the executive director of KTZ – Freight Transportation LLP, Kairatken Nygymetov.

 

 

The training, aimed at developing the professional and leadership competencies of railway workers, is designed for 3 modules and includes events in online and offline formats.

Director of the Human Resources Management Department of NC KTZ JSC Saule Istleyeva noted that training and development of production personnel increases the company’s performance: “We evaluate specialists using a competency matrix in order to further “pump up” their professional and personal qualities, thereby changing approaches to work, achieve new results and improve the quality of services provided.”

 

During the training, railway workers will update their knowledge on the issues of technical maintenance and depot repair of cars, identifying faults, and organizing a high-quality inspection of innovative cars. Seminars on team management, code of ethics, anti-corruption, training in emotional intelligence, ESG
and corporate culture are organized for students. Excursions to the Stadler carriage assembly plant, locomotive assembly and electric locomotive assembly plants will also be organized.

The development program will end on March 29, 2024. At the finale, a panel session will be held to discuss issues of improving work in the field of safety and labor protection, the efficiency of using innovative freight cars, and new approaches to organizing training for carriage workers.
