An open day for graduates of grades 9-11 “Festival of Professions” was held at the Higher College of Transport and Communications in Astana. The main goal of the event is to help future applicants decide on their choice of profession. The meeting was organized by the college and the branch of NC KTZ JSC - Center for Assessment and Development of Railway Transport Personnel.

Representatives of KTZ-Freight Transportation LLP, the Backbone Network Directorates and the personnel search and selection unit of the KTZ Human Resources Management Department spoke about in-demand professions in the industry, the features of employment immediately after graduation, career opportunities and a guaranteed social package.

“The main advantage of being a railway worker is that it is in demand. The railway is actively developing and qualified specialists are required to service the increasing cargo and passenger traffic every year. Working on the railway always means stability,” said a graduate of this college, head of the capital’s station Nadyrkhan Kaisarov. Over the course of 10 years of work on the railway, he rose from a signalman to a manager.

In turn, college representatives told the teenagers about admission rules, prospects for receiving a grant, and places in the dormitory.

Future students were given a tour of the classrooms and museum of the educational institution. Schoolchildren received comprehensive information about possible areas for their improvement.

The Higher College of Transport and Communications of Astana is a source of personnel for the railway industry. College graduates successfully work in various railway positions.
