Agreements reached to increase the number of transit trains to Europe via Kazakhstan

A meeting of the Working Group on cargo transportation on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) between Kazakhstan and China was held in Astana with the participation of representatives of NC KTZ JSC, the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State Development and Reform Committee of the People's Republic of China.
 
The main focus of the meeting was on the prospects for increasing transportation along the China-Europe route, as well as discussing key projects for the development of infrastructure and cooperation on the TITR.

During the meeting, agreements were reached to increase the number of transit trains to Europe, transiting through Kazakhstan to 600 container trains (CT) in 2025, to 1000 CT in 2027 and to 2000 CT in 2029.

NC KTZ JSC and its subsidiary, JSC KTZ Express, actively support the development of the TITR, which is a key multimodal corridor linking China and Europe via the Caspian Sea. The parties noted that strengthening cooperation on the TITR within the framework of China-Europe transport communication is important for the development of economic relations and the formation of a comprehensive strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China.
