The advantages of TITR ensure export growth

An international round table was held in the capital, organized by NC KTZ JSC with the participation of AZD CJSC (Azerbaijan) and large domestic exporters. At the event, the advantages and opportunities of the Trans-Caspian Route (TITR) were discussed, which make it possible to deliver the cargo of domestic exporters to world markets as quickly and economically as possible.

Thus, the participants of the round table - representing Kazakh business, exporters (mining, petrochemical, agricultural and other products), the largest shippers were able to directly ask their questions, make suggestions and discuss key issues of interaction in the organization of freight transportation, development of transportation via TITR.

In general, the agenda of the event was extensive - in addition to tariffs and cargo nomenclatures, issues of customs clearance, ship consignments, spot markets, stock quotes, reducing exporter costs for transporting products and others were also touched upon. The speakers talked about improving customs procedures, modernizing the transport and logistics sector, digitalization of transport services on the international corridor, and the formation and implementation of logistics policy.

Exporters noted that thanks to KTZ’s policy to support domestic producers, more and more enterprises began to supply their products over longer distances. To this end, KTZ is actively working to develop the “soft and hard infrastructure” of TITR, to improve the service of logistics services both in Kazakhstan and outside the country.

-  Along TITR for 2023, cargo transportation amounted to 2.8 million tons, an increase of 86% compared to 2022 (an increase of 1.5 million tons). Today, the route provides a competitive delivery time - an average of 12 days. In the medium term, we are interested in
increasing the volume of cargo transportation along the corridor to 10 million tons,” noted Yerlan Koishibayev, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of NC KTZ JSC for Logistics.

Shippers and exporters voiced their questions and suggestions to further achieve positive results in their work.

In addition, as part of the visit of Azerbaijani railway workers to Kazakhstan, a number of working meetings and negotiations were held with representatives of NC KTZ JSC, Kazakhstani exporters, logistics companies and shippers.
